Laughing River A full day of enrichment classes designed to provide group learning opportunities that explore a diverse array of subjects.

2010 Spring Semester Class Descriptions
Story & Song Garden In a circle time format, children experience an array of verse, song, movement, games, stories and wonder-walks. Some verses and songs will be offered in Spanish as a gentle introduction to a second language. In this setting, the youngest members of laughing River learn to engage in a group setting listening, wondering, and making a joyful noise together. The semester concludes with a seasonal play which the children will perform for the other members of the co-op.
Busy Hands! Creative Heart! In the second morning class, the young children will create a variety of handwork and craft projects. Beautiful expressions will be crafted using simple sewing, woodworking and seasonal project themes. Creative endeavors will be orchestrated on a rotational, volunteer basis. Where possible, recycled, natural and donated materials will be used for the projects. Additional help from all available parents to assist the children with their creations is welcome. ($10 material fee)
The above two classes are best taken together and are offered with a community spirit of cooperation, coordinated by parents who have time and experiences they are able to share. The classes will be held during the first half of the day (9:50am-12pm).
